Leaving For The Holy Convocation Today!

Today I leave for the 89thAnnual Holy Convocation of the Church Of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. I wont be updating my blog for the entire week as I plan on devoting myself to prayer, consecration and the numerous services that will be held. Pray that souls will be baptised in Jesus Name. Souls will be filled with the Holy Ghost. Pray that the saints having traveling mercies in Jesus Name. And now, I’m off to the airport! Have a blessed rest of the week.

Pastor fights to recover as wife & grandson mourned

Family, friends and congregants celebrated the life of the Rev. Betty Wright and her grandson Sunday as her husband, the Brooklyn pastor known as the “Godfather of Gospel,” struggled to recover from the crash that killed them.

“It’s a double whammy for us because my father is still in the hospital and we have to be strong for him,” said Donny Wright, son of the Grammy-nominated Rev. Timothy Wright.

Grace Tabernacle Christian Center in Crown Heights, the church Wright founded, was packed for the viewing of Betty Wright, 58, and 14-year-old D.J. Wright, who were killed July 4.

“We have to celebrate her life,” Donny Wright said. “She didn’t live a life of being sorry. She lived a life of praising God.”

All five of the Wrights’ sons were there: Danny, David, Derrick, Dwayne and Donny. A funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. at Washington Temple Church of God in Christ, 1372 Bedford Ave., Brooklyn.

Adrienne McCleod, 19, said Betty Wright was “like my second mother.” “I’m thanking the Lord it’s two funerals – it could have been three,” she said.

Timothy Wright, 61, remains in critical condition at a Pennsylvania hospital.

The Wrights were returning from a religious convention in Detroit when their car was hit head-on by a car driving the wrong way on Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania. The wrong-way driver also died.

D.J. had just graduated from the eighth grade at Roosevelt Middle School. The road trip with his grandparents – his first time away from his parents – was a graduation gift.

The Main theme of Corinthians 11 is about divine order in prayer and prophesying. How God wants obedience and subjection in contrast to rebellion and disorder. Just as Christ himself was subject to God so man should be subject to Christ. Not my will but thine be done. Man made in the image and glory of God has no other superior on this earth yet he subjects himself to Gods divine ordinances. God has put all things under his feet. Man must first take his place removing his head covering in respect to his superior when he approaches God or represents Him in prophesy(preaching). There can be nothing covering (kata-hanging down from) his head showing that he is being subject to anyone but God. This all refers back to Gen. 3.15-16. When woman takes her place by being in subjection to her head, the fallen angels are not able to work through her as Satan did through Eve. Satans seed are the rebellious angels that followed him. The woman shows that she is subject to her spiritual authority by covering her head. Her curse was that he/man would rule over her.

When a woman comes to pray without covering her head (akatakaluptos) she is showing insubordination. When she places a veil on her head she has power on her head and the ministering angels are able to operate seeing man and woman are following Gods order for them. If the woman doesn’t cover her head in the spiritual sense it is such a shame as in the natural sense she were shorn or shaven. James gives us a picture of how satan can work if we are not humble and in subjection no matter what we say from our lips. We can pretend that everything is ok in the outward appearance but the spiritual unseen realm show strife (fighting) and envy (trying to be above another) and gives opening for confusion and evil to work.

It is either wear a veil/covering or shave your head. Paul is not saying that your hair is your veil. If it is a shame to be shorn then cover/veil (katakulupto- cover wholly) your head. He is not saying saying put hair on your head or dont cut your hair. He specifically says shave which means he realizes that she already has hair on her head. He is not mentioning at this point how long her hair is. He later references that it is natural for a woman to have long hair and for a man to have short hair. He does not mention that men should shave their heads because their hair is too long and it might be seen as if they had a covering on their heads. This is not referring to the hair as being a covering. It is an external object to the body that is placed over the head.

Now this gives the reasoning why man is not to cover his head. Man you see carries the authority of God as he was made in his image. He is not to put on anything that shows he is in subjection any longer. This is in regards to a veil or covering (katakalupto) as a woman wears covering completely over her head. The Jewish males wear a Yamika covering only the back of the head showing that they are always subject to God, but not a veil, turban, or hat when they worship or pray. It cannot hang down to infer subjection. Especially now that the Christian has been made free from the law and sin. He previously willingly subjected himself to disobedience and caused sin to enter in. This separated him from God and gave him a death sentence. Through one man sin entered in and through one man Jesus it was abolished by the grace of God.

Paul had used various arguments to show them the impropriety of their females speaking unveiled in public. He now appeals to their natural sense of what was decent and right, according to established and acknowledged customs and habits. Albert Barnes

Where do we get that this and the following verse have always meant uncut. This is more of a tradition that we have made up and made into a commandment of God. This is Paul using a earthly symbol to teach heavenly truth. Doth not even nature itself teach you? This verse was never intended to teach that a woman should never let scissors touch her hair. Long hair is the symbol of her Natural glory. This does not refer to the Kabod or Glory of God. It gives no special power it shows the natural order that gives a woman distinction from the man. What does give the Spirit more liberty to move is his and her being in divine subjection as God has ordained.

Note that this is talking about the hair now in the natural sense, the natural symbol that covers a woman. It is a glory to her, not to God, not to the church, not for the working of miracles. The laying on of hands is the sign that will follow all believers, male and female. Not the laying on of hair? The shift changes from spiritual understanding of prayer, prophesying and external veil covering (katakalupto) as in the previous verses to the natural vesture or covering (peribolain) that a woman has “her hair”. This does not substitute for the veil, the apostle changes the greek word to denote that this is a different type of covering. If he would have meant this was the same use as as veil, he would have concluded with the same word used for in the spiritual sense. We only see the same word in the english but the greek clarifies this for us.

Ah! the proverbial throw the baby out with the bathwater! Well if there are any contentious just forget the whole thing God told me to place this in his Word just so that after I wrote it you can just discard it. No No a thousand times No!!! Here is what Paul does write about contentious people. Also that we should contend for the faith.

I Was UPCI For The Day!

Today I was UPCI for the day. For my readers who have no clue what that is, it is the United Pentecostal Church International. The United Pentecostal Church International(UPCI) is a multicultural Christian religious organization formed in 1945 by a merger of the Pentecostal Church, Incorporated and the Pentecostal Assemblies of Jesus Christ. Total worldwide membership, including North America, is listed at 4,036,945 In essence, this is an Apostolic-Holiness organization.

I visited 2 churches. YES I churched hop’d a little bit. (You tend to do that when you are seeking a new church home. Now granted, I love the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ but there are “no not one” Church of Our Lords here in Dallas Texas. My first stop today at 11:00AM was North Cities UPC Church www.northcities.orgwhich is pastored by Pastor D.G. Hargrove. My second stop today at 2:00PM was Emmanuel Pentecostal Church http://epcmesquite.com/ which is pastored by Pastor Richard Flowers.

I was greeted so warmly by the Spirit Filled staff of both congregations and am looking forward to returning to both churches in the near future. Everyone was in 100% apostolic standard, the praise and worship was great, and most importantly God was in both service (which was evident by the speaking in other tongues WITH interpretation).

It is very important for us as believers that when you are choosing a church, you choose it based off of The Teachings of the Word of God coupled with the leading of the Holy Ghost (as one church may need your gift more than the next). No longer should we want to be pew warmers. We should seek church homes that are going to allow us to grow and mature in the Holy Ghost eating the meat of God from on high. In this season of my life, I am ready to dive in to the deeper depths of God and cant wait till God strategically appoints me to a ministry that He is pleased with. Granted, there are no perfect churches however we can strive to be perfect because we serve and Perfect and Holy God who only wants the best for us.

God bless Pastor Flowers and Hargrove for your wonderful hospitality. I pray the blessings of the Lord maketh rich and addeth no sorrow to both ministries in Jesus Name!

Son Of Popular Evangelist Greg Laurie Dies In Tragic Auto Accident

Christopher Laurie, the son of Harvest Christian Fellowship leader Greg Laurie, died on Thursday in an auto accident in Riverside County. The accident occurred around 9 a.m. in Corona.

Laurie’s station wagon collided with a  truck involved in roadwork in the carpool lane. Authorities are still piecing together exactly how the accident occurred.

Laurie, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chris Laurie served as the art director at Harvest Christian Fellowship, sponsor of the popular Harvest Crusade, for the last three years. He is survived by his parents; his wife, Brittany, and daughter, Stella; and his brother, Jonathan.

Chris’ father, Greg Laurie, is a popular evangelist who has written several books and is known both for his television appearances and his large “Harvest Crusade” outreach festivals.

According to church officials, Christopher Laurie was expecting another daughter in November.

Memorial plans for Christopher are pending. More information will be posted to the Harvest website as details become available.

In lieu of flowers, Harvest Christian Fellowship has established the Christopher Laurie Memorial Fund in memory of our friend, co-worker, family member, and brother in Christ. Proceeds from the fund will go to Brittany Laurie, Stella Laurie, and the soon-to-be daughter in order to assist them financially.

Holiness involves both the inner man and the outer man (I Corinthians 6:19-20; I Thessalonians 5:23). We must perfect holiness by cleansing ourselves of filthiness both of the flesh and of the spirit (II Corinthians 7:1). For example, lustful thoughts are as sinful as an act of adultery(Matthew 5:27-28), and hatred is just as sinful as murder (I John 3:15). Holiness, then, includes attitudes, thoughts, and spiritual stewardship on the one hand and actions, appearance, and physical stewardship on the other. One without the other is insufficient. Inward holiness will produce outward holiness, but the outward appearance of holiness is worthless without inward holiness. For example, a modest spirit will produce modest dress, but modest dress is of little value if it conceals a lustful heart.

Holiness or sanctification is not a means of earning salvation but a result of salvation. As such, it comes by grace through faith. Holiness cannot be manufactured bywords of the flesh but must come as we submit to the leadership and control of the Holy Spirit. We are holy in a twofold sense. On the one hand, we receive an immediate sanctification (separation from sin) through the death of Christ when we are baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 6:11; Hebrews10:10). God counts us holy by imputing Christ’s righteousness to us. On the other hand, we must follow after and seek holiness (Hebrews 12:14). We must strive after holiness and receive the progressive work of sanctification. We are already sanctified, but we are also called to be saints (sanctified, holy ones) (I Corinthians 1:2).

Early Baptists were at first grouped with the Puritans, but they began to organize separately in England in the17th century. They, too, adhered to holiness teaching. Some Baptist groups still remain quite conservative on holiness issues. For example, the Baptist Bible Fellowship opposes dancing, drinking, smoking, gambling, and themovies.27 in 1984 the Southern Baptist Convention admonished all members not to use tobacco or alcohol.

Many independent Baptists teach against worldly amusements, immodest dress, and women wearing pants, and women cutting their hair. Sword of the Lord Publishers prints a number of books and booklets that deal with these issues, including John R. Rice’s Amusements for Christians and Elizabeth Rice Hanford’s Your Clothes Say it for You. Liberty Baptist College, founded by Jerry Falwell, has a dress and conduct code for its student body of over 4000: “Men are not allowed to grow beards or mustaches, or to wear hair that touches their shirt collars or covers the tops of their ears. . . . Women are expected to dress modestly. Students are not allowed to dance or attend movies.”

Many times what we wear helps to mold their expectations as well as our own. When a woman wears an immodest dress, she begins to think of herself as seductive and acts accordingly. Other people perceive her as provocative and treat her as such, which reinforces her behavior. In short, appearance both reflects and to large degree determines what we are in the eyes of self and others.

We must ask what practices of the time concerned God enough for Him to inspire this passage. What clothing did Paul have in mind when he warned against immodesty of dress? In a day when women wore robes to the ankle, what type of immodest dress existed? If Paul found immodest clothing in an age characterized by greater modesty of dress than our own, certainly he would consider many styles of clothing today to be immodest. As Chapter 8 will note, many women of the time tucked in their tunics above the knee for convenience in certain activities, and the early church fathers considered this immodest. God was concerned about modesty of dress in a day when even exposing the upper leg was considered immodest. In Isaiah47:2-3 God considered baring the leg and uncovering the thigh to be shameful exposure of nakedness. This gives us a good idea as to what God would regard as the minimum standard of modesty, regardless of culture.

The basic reason for modesty of dress is to subdue the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life. The exposed body tends to arouse improper thoughts in both wearer and onlooker. To implement the purpose behind modest dress, the body should basically be covered, except for those parts which we must use openly for normal living. This suggests that clothes should cover the torso and upper limbs. Reasonable guidelines, then, would-be women’s dresses over the knee and sleeves to the elbow. In addition, we should avoid low necklines, sleeveless dresses or shirts, very tight clothes, very thin clothes, and slacks on women because they immodestly reveal the feminine contours of upper leg, thigh, and hip. Likewise, swimming in mixed company is immodest. Since the primary effect of makeup is to highlight sex appeal, we reject makeup as immodest.

To some degree modesty is culturally relative. We must certainly dress in a manner that would be considered modest for the occasion and in the judgment of our culture. For example, 19th century society considered it improper for a woman to expose any of her leg in public. Applying principles of Christian liberty, a Christian woman of that day should not have worn a knee-length dress, for this would have brought reproach upon her and the Lord. However, there must be a minimum of modesty that is absolute. Otherwise, if society condoned total nudity, Christians could walk around nude. If so, we could delete I Timothy 2:9 from the Bible as irrelevant.

Finally, the heart must be modest and motives pure. Conduct, gestures, gait, body language, and speech must be modest. If a woman wants to, she can display her body immodestly and act seductively even in the most modest of dresses. We must never use dress to promote immodest conduct, and no degree of external modesty can cover-up an immodest, lustful spirit.

A sign posted in an Orthodox Jewish district of Jerusalem provides an interesting definition of modesty for women’s dress:” Passage permitted ‘only’ to women dressed modestly! Long dress, lower than knee length (no slacks).Long sleeves, beyond elbow length. Closed Neckline”(National Geographic, July 1985, p. 30).

Royal Priesthood of Kingsboro Seventh Day Adventist Church Brooklyn NY

Again, the “Black” Seventh Day Adventist Church has come a very long way. From no clapping (or else if you did they would drag you out the church) to now wonderful community choir looking robes, clapping their hands, stomping their feet, just like us Pentecostals. I had to feature this choir (although not the greatest video footage) because I am so proud of Kingsboro. (Now, the Lord Jesus would be even the more proud if you took the sabbath and coupled that with the Baptism in Jesus Name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues…I know you’d truly be able to enjoy your Sabbaths rest both on earth and in heaven).

Quiet as its kept, I am the former choir director of Kingsboro’s youth choir. Mmm Hmmm. I also was on the Praise team for a number of years as well. Shouted myself right out the door and straight to Love Fellowship Tabernacle (Lord, those were the days, going to church on Saturday for the Sabbath and Sunday for the shouting and the Sunday night concerts in Brooklyn).

I’ll give the choir 2 thumbs up.

To all my Seventh Day Adventist readers out there, there is a “more excellent way” (Acts 2:38 and Acts 2:4) and if you read my blog coupled with the Word of God, you will find the True Way of Holiness.

This article is meant to be a helpful reminder of how terrible the consequences of falling to sexual temptation can be. Print this page and read it often. Read them periodically and on a regular basis, especially while traveling or under special temptation and weakness.   • Irretrievable loss of years of witnessing to my unsaved friends and family.

  • Following in the footsteps of others I know of whose immorality caused me to grieve.
  • Pain to innocent people around me who would get hit by my shrapnel (ie. the sins of Achan, David, and others).

  • Bringing great pleasure to Satan, the enemy of God and all that is good.
  • Laughter, rejoicing and blasphemous smugness by those who disrespect God and the church (2 Sam. 12:14) .
  • Heaping judgment and endless problems on the person I committed adultery with.
  • Possible physical consequences (pregnancy from adultery, STD’s, AIDS, etc.).

Keep your mind on the things of God

The Changing Face of Christianity-at-large..yet the Bible still calls for holiness!

Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, withoutwhich no man shall see the Lord. Did I just read that correct? Did you just read that correct? Yes, holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. How many of you reading this blog can truly say that your Pastor is teaching you what thus saith the Lord. The un-tainted un-adulterated Word of God. The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God! Not many huh?

Christianity within the United States of America at large is changing. Everyone is trying to keep up with the Jonese’s yet I wonder if the Jonese’s were even saved? Good question huh. There is a gospel of inspiration that is being preached across pulpits nationwide that is not preparing congregations to make the rapture. To live rapture ready. To meet Jesus in the air when he comes back. When is the last time you heard your local mega church pastor preach on subjects like the rapture, hell’s fire and brimstone, the resurrection of the just and unjust, or living holy and sanctified for the Masters use. Many of you could say that within the last 15 years of Christendom, these topics no longer are preached across modern America’s pulpits nor taught in our Sunday school class. We can teach you how to get out of debt (by giving more to your local church of corse), we can teach you to name it and claim it (so you can drive that fancy car or live in that beautiful house you have always wanted). In essence, just like the 1980’s song, we are teaching modern Christians to “don’t worry, be happy”. Yall remember that song? Kinda had a little Caribbean tune to it.

Mega churches (which according to the web is defined as a large church, having around 2,000 or more attendants for a typical weekly service) across America on Sunday morning are “lifting up un-holy hands to a holy God” most of its congregants have no clue what the Bible says about living a consecrated and separate life sold out to God. Instead, Pastors across the nation are claiming they are winning souls at any cost. Any cost? Wait, so if I have “hip hop Sunday” and tell everyone to dress in the lastest  Ecko, Coogi, LRG, Sean John, Evisu, Enyce, and Rocawear we are suppose to win the world by showing them I can be just like you and still serve God? That’s an oxymoron! Or how about this, come join my fraternity or sorority and we will do a local car wash at a church. That’s suppose to draw souls? Whatever happened to coming out from among them and being separate!

This has nothing to do with denomination. The bible calls for holiness and if holiness is not being preached in your church, my dear friend, you need a new church home. Never should I come into God’s house and wonder if I am in a club. Whole rows smelling like alcohol and tobacco. Children texting each other from one end of the church to the next asking them to meet them outside so we can make out while the pastor is up preaching. How dare we sit in God’s house and give Him an “any ole kind of Praise” and call it Holy! All you want to do is feel good and Christianity is now being marketed as some type of religion that you can do what you want, say what you want, live how you want to live and still make it to heaven. Take for example the BET awards. All the artist sing and rap about fornication, adultery and making money. When they get up to accept the award, they always start out by saying “I want to thank my Lord and Saviour first of all for this award”. HUH? Yet another oxymoron. So you mean to tell me you are thanking God for all the albums you sold promoting the very opposite of what the Bible speaks about. Say it isn’t so.

As you already know, my blog is an Apostolic Oneness Pentecostal blog. But for one hot second, lets put all of that away and be real with one another. Is the current state of Christianity really going to cause thousands of souls to make the rapture? Or is it really causing souls to go straight to hell with gasoline draws on it. Lets turn to the Word of God and find out.  1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” Now, Paul mentions certain sins that will cause an individual not to make it into the kingdom of God yet he gives the reader hope. The key words are in verse 11 “AND SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU……BUT…….” which clearly means that people use to live these lives prior to being sanctified and justified by Jesus Christ our Lord. Now that we are sanctified, the bible goes on to teach us in 2 Corinthians 6:17: Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. A Christian (one who is Christ like) must learn now through the power of the Holy Ghost to come out from those sins that caused us to be un-holy and now to live a holy and separated life. That means turning off hip hop and rap music, no longer associating yourself with the things of this World such as smoking, gambling, fornicating, adultery yada yada yada. Instead, 2008’s version of Christianity is teaching the total opposite. It tells you that you can still do those things but only in moderation. Or that you can still curse every now and then and everything will be ok. That’s so old school, we don’t teach that here. We teach love and tolerance of all things and all lifestyles and so what if you want to listen to songs that have lyrics in them that promote fornication. Just make sure you don’t do those things.

Not so! Dear reader, the bible still calls for holiness (both outward and inward) and the only way that you will see Jesus is if you live holy (both outwardly and inwardly). Holiness means you cant dress the way you use to dress anymore. You cant talk the way you use to talk anymore. No longer can you associate yourself with the “unclean” things of this World. THERE MUST BE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SAINTS (The Church) and THE SINNERS (The World). The two are oil and water and cannot mix. Do not be fooled into thinking that these tele-evangelist are concerned with your soul. Most of them are not. Do not be fooled that these 20,000 member churches are all heaven bound. Most of them are not. Church is not a place to come and feel good. Church is a place to come and get the Word of God which convicts you and prompts you to change. To live better. To live according to thus saith the Lord in His Word. I must cry loud and spare not and tell people that YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN! Granted, the road is not going to be easy. It may get difficult at times, but my friend, YOU MUST LIVE HOLY for as the bible clearly says once again in Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

……..and because Jesus Christ who is God Almighty is the greatest power, we shall not be defeated!

Bynum Officially Divorces Hubby

TV preacher Juanita Bynum is now officially divorced from…

TV preacher Juanita Bynum is now officially divorced from the man who beat her up last year.

Bynum and Thomas Weeks ended their nearly six-year marriage Friday, after a tense hearing in divorce court. The proceedings were stopped at one point when Bynum admitted the two had sex after their separation.

In their settlement, Weeks has been ordered to immediately return several household items — including artwork and silverware — to Bynum, and she’s agreed to pay $40k of Weeks’ attorney fees. He also gets to keep his 2004 Land Rover. Neither side gets alimony. 

Bynum filed for divorce last September, just one month after Weeks smacked her down in an Atlanta hotel parking lot. Weeks pled guilty to assault and is serving three years’ probation.

 

The two were married in an over the top ceremony in 2002, and have toured the country lecturing on love and relationships. Bynum is the leader of a huge ministry and has sold thousands of motivational books and tapes. Bishop Weeks, co-wrote “Teach Me How to Love: The Beginnings” with Bynum.

 

I tell you one thing Saints, I aint choosing sides on this one. Just remember, there are 2 sides to every story *sigh* Lets move on……………….

Brooklyn’s Grace Tabernacle Christian Center remains in a state of shock and mourning as the church loses its first lady and a youth member as their pastor continues to fight for his life after a car accident in
Pennsylvania. The Rev. Timothy Wright and his wife Betty and their grandson,14-year-old D.J., were struck head-on by a driver Friday who was going the wrong way on Interstate 80. The incident happened while the three were on their way back to Long Island from a church conference in Detroit. Reports indicate that while in Greene Township, a driver going the wrong way hit the Wright family’s vehicle. The driver, 44-year-old John Pick, who died at the scene, reportedly had two beer cans in the vehicle he was driving. Police have not determined if Pick was under the influence. Betty died after succumbing to injuries from the accident, and D.J.died on Saturday night. Pastor Wright remains in critical but stable condition after doctors performed surgery on his neck bones, lungs, jaw, ribs, left leg and right ankle. On Sunday,holding service without the pastor and his wife, who served as co-pastor, church members and community residents came to pray for their injured pastor and his family. Bishop James Gaylord led the midday service, where members also reminisced about Betty and D.J. The teen was a member of the youth choir and wanted to follow behind his grandparents in the ministry. Gospel singer Donnie McClurkin also came to the church to give support and pray for the Wright family. Wright is known best for his inspirational gospel music and has been dubbed the “godfather of gospel.” He has received Grammy nominations for his musical works. His last album, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,” was released last year. Wright has been making music since he began his own choir nearly 30 years ago. Other churches in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, say that they are all in deep sorrow for Wright and his church. In the small area near Atlantic Avenue, a collection of churches just a few steps from each other welcome worshippers of all faiths. While the churches are physically close, they vary in denominations ranging from Catholic, Baptist and A.M.E. Grace Tabernacle is affiliated with the Church of God in Christ.But that didn’t stop the churches from having a relationship with Wright. “There are about six other churches and most of us worship at different times,” said Evangelist Cephus Tucker of Bethel Tabernacle A.M.E., which sits across the street from Grace Tabernacle. “Everyone was surprised. We are always going to try and work out something and we can always lend a hand.” Our Lady of Charity Roman Catholic Church has had Grace Tabernacle’s choir over for services. The two churches even did fundraisers and held a street fair jointly. “We all serve one God,” said Patricia Romaine of the church. “We want to lift them up in prayer and we are praying for that miracle.” Romaine also said that Our Lady of Charity’s Deacon, James Lacey, is sending a signed card and letter giving their condolences for the church’s loss. Just around the corner from Grace Tabernacle, Temple of His Glory Christ Life Ministries’ Bishop Dr. Julius Abiola said that his church is also ready to extend a helping hand even though they didn’t have an immediate relationship with Grace Tabernacle. He said, “It’s a sad thing and we are staying with them at this time and the Lord will see them through. His [Timothy’s] music has been a blessing in his church and in this community.” Wright remains at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa., where he is in the intensive care unit. Funeral arrangements for Betty and D.J. have not been released.
